As we look to impact the generations to come, we know that our effort of enhancing lives today will have a significant influence for the future. That is why we are committed to working and bettering the many issues surrounding our world today.
Our primary mission is to enrich the community by promoting and improving the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of all individuals.
This will be achieved by enhancing the funds for a wide variety of 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organizations in various fields such as mental health, addiction recovery, education, and many more.
These values are the 4 principles our foundation will use to guide us. We commit to following these on a daily basis to best serve our grantees and the community as a whole.
Josh was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma before moving out to Phoenix, Arizona where he graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2020. Since graduating college Josh has worked in the insurance business as a Commercial Producer at HUB International.
After helping brainstorm the idea for the Darryl & Julie Christner Foundation, Josh was called back to help his dad run the foundation.
Today, Josh serves as the Executive Director, devoted to implementing the Darryl & Julie Christner Family Foundation’s mission of improving the well-being of every individual in the community.
The Darryl & Julie Christner Family Foundation was established in December 2023 by Darryl Christner, who approached this new chapter with genuine enthusiasm and purpose. A year before his passing, Darryl set out to create something lasting—an organization rooted in his desire to make the community a better place for everyone, especially those struggling with mental health.
Darryl was a devoted husband, father, and business leader who spent over 30 years helping build John Christner Trucking (JCT) into one of the largest refrigerated trucking companies in the nation. As CFO and co-owner, he led with vision, integrity, and a steady commitment to those around him.
Beyond his professional achievements, Darryl was known for his warmth, generosity, and sense of humor. He was a man of faith who loved his family, cared deeply for his community, and found joy in the simple things—golf, biking, travel, and good conversation.
This foundation reflects the heart of who he was. It exists to carry on his legacy by supporting causes that mattered most to him—mental health, faith, education, veterans, and strong communities. Through this work, we aim to honor his life by continuing the mission he believed in so deeply.
We are open to any 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization applying for a scholarship grant from our Family Foundation. Those in service of Oklahoma’s mental health, addiction recovery, or education fields are especially invited to fill out our eligibility form.
